In 2015 Methow at Home was formed by the vision and hard work of some truly forward-thinking neighbors. They saw how challenging it can be to grow older in our rural valley, especially as some important services were not easily accessible or were lacking entirely.

The Methow At Home Story

It Takes
A Village

Across the nation, more communities are coming together to create “virtual villages” to help people remain independent, age in their homes, and stay engaged in their communities as long as possible. At its core, the “village to village” movement exists to forge strong social and community connections. Learn more about this thriving movement: Village to Village Network

Mission & Vision

Methow At Home serves our community through the transitions of aging age with dignity, respect.

We foster a vibrant, multi-generational community rooted in joy, connection, and mutual appreciation, where everyone is valued. Our approach is about meeting people where they are, offering a variety of ways for both members and volunteers to contribute—whether through large or small acts—so that everyone can age at home in the community they love for as long as possible.

To achieve this vision, we focus on four core practices:

  • Member services and Volunteer opportunities

  • Social connection

  • Preparedness and planning

  • Education and empowerment

I'm amazed by, and so appreciative of, the safety net that Methow at Home continues to build, not only for those suffering from dementia and their caregivers, but for their friends and family. The whole community benefits when their elder members are cared for. I feel incredibly lucky to live here!
