Join the Methow At Home Volunteer Team
Day after day, our volunteers make a difference by cleaning, cooking, driving, or just bringing a friendly smile. Show up with your skills and interests and we will likely have a volunteer opportunity to match.
We recognize the value of your time and we will do everything we can to make your volunteer experience gratifying and fulfilling. Thank you for your interest in volunteering — our community values your service so much!

*Please note that all volunteers are required to have a background check, a current valid WA state driver's license, and proof of auto liability insurance (if you volunteer to provide transportation).
From projects large to small, volunteers are matched with opportunities to fit their interests and availability.
Methow At Home facilitates the service requests of our community with volunteers that are willing and able to help. As a volunteer you’ll receive twice weekly emails with opportunities to serve older adults in our community. You can pick and choose what opportunities you want to volunteer for and when you want to volunteer.
Join us and start making an impact in the lives of older adults. Your service enables people to continue aging at home, in the place they love, for as long as possible!
We all thrive when we lift each other up!
Specialized Volunteer Opportunities
Beyond the general volunteer opportunities, Methow At Home has several programs that require a deeper investment from volunteers and specialized training. If you are seeking a greater time commitment and a highly rewarding volunteer experience, check out these program specific oppotunities!
Guardian Angels
Guardian Angels cultivate a more personal relationship with an individual member, creating a bond of support and trust.
The responsibilities of Guardian Angels vary based on the interest and skills of the volunteer and on the specific needs of the individual client.
The Guardian Angel is a broader and more consistent volunteer commitment. Extra training and reporting are required.

“I have been a Guardian angel for three different members over the past several years. Each member had different expectations, needs, and personalities. It seemed that they all appreciated my assistance and our relationship. I learned lots from each and treasure our friendships that developed. Being a Guardian Angel has helped me to feel even more a part of what makes this community great!”

Social Respite Care
Methow At Home volunteers can do additional training to provide social respite care and companionship. Caregiving is a full-time job, but social respite volunteers give caregivers a break by offering a 4-hour caregiving shift up to two times per week. The loved one is cared for, while the caregiver has time to step away and care for themselves.
MAH is not health care or medical services provider and cannot provide personal care (e.g. bathing or toileting assistance), administer medication, or provide the kind of services that professional nurses provide when caregiving.

Dementia Support
Methow Creative Aging is a Dementia-Friendly Arts Engagement Program for adults living with dementia and care partners.
Volunteers participating in this free training will learn to lead art activities while employing methods to promote a joyful experience for care partners and people living with dementia or other challenges.
The Methow Creative Aging volunteers bring hands-on arts expression into Jamie’s Place adult residence and into individual homes for people living with dementia and their care partners.
“I spent a delightful two hours with a member while his spouse attended the session for caregivers of people with dementia.
After learning about his music background, while we experimented with clay and watercolors, we sang beloved oldies together. It was a very lovely experience - one that we both benefited from.”
